AR Camera Counter: Privacy Policy & Terms

Complete Privacy Disclosures, Permission Transparency & Google Play Data Safety

Application: AR Camera Counter & Tally (Package: com.softtechservice.counterai) • SoftTech Service • Effective Date: January 1, 2025 (Last Updated: 2026)

1. Core Privacy Philosophy

This Privacy Policy explains how AR Camera Counter & Tally ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), developed by SoftTech Service, handles information collected or processed when you use our mobile application available on Google Play (Package: com.softtechservice.counterai).

Privacy-by-Design & Local-First Architecture: Our core design principle is that your physical camera feed, images, inventory counts, and industrial audit data belong strictly to you. All computer vision analysis, neural network inferences, and object detection calculations happen exclusively on your local device.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

To provide absolute transparency, we explicitly declare what is never collected by our software:

  • No Personal Identity Information: We do not require registration, login accounts, usernames, email addresses, telephone numbers, or passwords. You can use all counting modes anonymously out of the box.
  • No Biometric Identifiers: The App does not perform facial recognition, iris scanning, biometric matching, or personal profiling.
  • No Cloud Image or Video Feeds: We do not upload, stream, store, or transmit your camera frames, scanned photos, or inventory photos to any external server or cloud service. Camera frames are evaluated in temporary device RAM and discarded immediately after bounding boxes and counts are calculated.
  • No Location Tracking: We do not access, track, or log your precise or approximate GPS location.

3. On-Device Machine Learning & Computer Vision

The App incorporates Google MediaPipe and custom computer vision algorithms running on top of TensorFlow Lite:

  • All neural network calculations, spatial tracking vectors, Hough circle transforms, and vertical stalk morphological filters execute 100% locally on your device's hardware processor.
  • No visual data, bounding boxes, or image captures leave your physical device for machine learning inference.

4. Local Data Storage & User Control

Counting Sessions & History: All session titles, item tallies, category breakdowns ("Pass", "Defect", "Reject"), session notes, timestamps, and thumbnail snapshots are saved exclusively in a local SQLite database (Android Room) stored in your device's private, sandboxed application directory.

Exported Files (PDF & CSV): When you generate a formal PDF Inspection Report or CSV file, the document is synthesized locally on your phone. It is only transmitted when you explicitly share it via the native Android System Share Sheet.

Total User Deletion Control:

  • You can delete any individual session at any time from the local Library.
  • You can permanently wipe all historical data by tapping "Clear All History" in Settings.
  • Uninstalling the App immediately purges all sandboxed databases, cached snapshots, and application preferences from your device.

5. Third-Party Services & Advertising

The App uses trusted Google SDKs strictly for monetization and application maintenance:

A. Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)

We display banner and interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process certain data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy, including:

  • Device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID / AAID).
  • IP address (used for approximate geographic location and ad fraud prevention).
  • Interaction data with advertisements.
  • Diagnostic and application performance metrics.

You can manage your personalized advertising preferences or reset your Advertising ID directly in your Android device settings under Settings → Google → Ads.

For more details, review:
• Google Privacy & Terms
• How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services

B. Google Play In-App Update API

We utilize the Google Play In-App Update library to inform you when new, secure versions of the App are available on Google Play. This service communicates directly with Google Play Services under Google's standard privacy framework.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

AR Camera Counter is an industrial, business, and productivity tool intended for general commercial and personal inventory counting. We do not knowingly market to or collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). If you believe an advertising partner has inadvertently collected data from a child in violation of applicable laws, please contact us for immediate resolution.

7. Security of Your Information

Because all inventory data and camera frames are retained strictly on your local device, the security of your stored sessions depends on your device's physical and operating system security. We follow industry-standard Android security practices:

  • Strict Android application sandboxing isolating app storage from third-party apps.
  • Secure content sharing using androidx.core.content.FileProvider.
  • Mandatory TLS/HTTPS encryption for all advertising network communications.
