Zuma.io: Privacy Policy & Terms

Complete Privacy Disclosures, Data Safety Declarations & Legal Terms

Applicable to Android Package: Zuma.io: Marble Shooter • SoftTech Service • Effective Date: January 1, 2025 (Last Revised: 2026)

1. Foundational Privacy Principles

Zuma.io: Marble Shooter ("the Game", "the App") is developed and maintained by SoftTech Service ("we", "us", "our"). We believe casual mobile games should respect player privacy without compromises. Zuma.io is built from the ground up with privacy as a foundational engineering principle:

  • No User Accounts: No registration, email address, password, social network integration, or user identity creation is ever required or requested to play the game.
  • No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, request, harvest, or store your name, phone number, physical address, contacts, microphone audio, camera stream, or biometric identifiers.
  • No Intrusive Telemetry: Zuma.io implements a privacy-minimal, zero-PII abstract analytics seam (GameplayAnalytics). In production builds, this resolves to an internal no-op adapter that transmits zero player aim traces, zero session timelines, and zero personal device identifiers to any external server.

2. 100% Local Storage Only

Offline-First & Device-Encrypted: All user game data is stored exclusively on your local Android device using the operating system's sandboxed, encrypted SharedPreferences.

Locally retained data includes:

  • Completed campaign levels (1 to 50) and earned stars (out of 150 possible).
  • Highest achieved scores and cascade combo records.
  • Unlocked mystical narrative worlds (Jungle, Temple, Volcano, Sky Sanctuary, Eclipse).
  • Tactical booster inventory earned in-game (Bomb, Color Splash, Lightning, Time Freeze).
  • Player preferences: Music and sound effect volume levels, mute flags, graphic quality preset (Low, Medium, High), and Reduced Motion setting.

Data Control & Deletion: Players have total control over their saved progress at all times. Navigating to Settings → Reset Progress completely purges all local game data and resets the app to factory defaults. Furthermore, uninstalling Zuma.io or clearing the app storage via Android OS settings permanently wipes all locally stored files.

3. Advertising & Google UMP Consent Management

Zuma.io is a free-to-play offline puzzle game supported by non-intrusive mobile advertising provided through the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob).

A. Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)

To comply with strict international privacy directives—including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the United Kingdom GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act / California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA)—Zuma.io integrates Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK.

  • Prior to requesting or serving any advertisement, the app presents a standardized, legally binding consent dialog in applicable regulatory regions.
  • Players may accept, reject, or customize partner data processing and personalized advertising preferences.

B. Fail-Closed Privacy Logic

Our game code operates under strict fail-closed privacy logic: If consent resolution fails, if consent is denied, or if you are playing completely offline, ad requests are strictly halted. The game remains 100% playable offline without any penalty, paywall, or loss of features.

C. Re-Open Consent Preferences Anytime

Consent is never a one-way decision. In regions where privacy regulations apply, players can re-examine, modify, or revoke their consent preferences at any time directly inside the game:

  1. Tap the Settings gear icon on the home screen or pause menu.
  2. Tap Privacy Choices to immediately re-launch the official Google UMP consent form.

4. Child Protection & Under-Age Tagging (COPPA & GDPR-K)

Zuma.io is committed to the protection of children's digital safety and complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the European Union General Data Protection Regulation regarding children (GDPR-K), and the Google Play Families Policy.

Compile-Time Compliance Gating: In production builds, Zuma.io strictly requires an owner-approved compile-time flag --dart-define=ZUMA_TAG_FOR_UNDER_AGE=true|false. The build intentionally fails closed if this flag is omitted or malformed.

When configured for child-directed audiences or when under-age users are indicated, the Google Mobile Ads SDK sets:

  • tagForUnderAgeOfConsent = true
  • tagForChildDirectedTreatment = true
  • Disables personalized ads, behavioral profiling, and interest-based remarketing.

5. In-App Privacy Controls

Zuma.io puts direct, transparent controls into the hands of the player:

  • Open Official Privacy Policy: Tap Settings → Privacy Policy to inspect this document at any time via your system's secure browser.
  • Privacy Choices (Consent Management): Modify or revoke AdMob and cookie preferences at will.
  • Reset Progress: Instantly wipe all campaign stars, unlocked stages, and local scores.

6. Security of Data & Communications

Any external network transmission triggered by the application—such as Google UMP consent fetching, Google Mobile Ads mediation requests, or opening external legal resources—is enforced exclusively through encrypted, authenticated HTTPS protocols (TLS 1.2+). No unencrypted HTTP connections are permitted in production builds.
