Ultra Doc Scanner ("we", "our", or "the app") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting user data. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use our Android and iOS application.

1. Information You Provide

  • Scanned documents and images
  • PDF files you create or edit
  • E-signatures you draw
  • Extracted text from OCR
  • Profile information (name, avatar) - optional
  • App preferences (theme settings)

Important: All documents, images, PDFs, extracted text, profile information (name, avatar), and app preferences are stored locally on your device only. We do not upload, transmit, or store any of this data on any external servers.

User Profile Management: Profile information (name and avatar) is managed entirely within the app and stored locally on your device. This information is never transmitted to any external servers or third-party services.

2. Automatically Collected Information

We do NOT collect:

  • Personal identity information (names, email addresses, phone numbers)
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers for tracking
  • Browsing history or app usage patterns
  • Contact lists or calendar data

3. Advertising Data (Google AdMob)

Our app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect certain information automatically, including:

  • Device advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID, iOS Identifier for Advertisers)
  • Approximate location (based on IP address)
  • App usage data for ad personalization

This data collection is handled by Google AdMob in accordance with their Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.

📱 Permissions Usage

The app requests permissions only to provide core functionality:

Permission Purpose
Camera Scan documents using your device camera. Images are processed locally and stored only on your device.
Storage / Photos Save scanned documents, PDFs, and images. Access images from gallery for scanning or editing. Required for document management features.
Internet Display advertisements via Google AdMob. Not required for core app functionality.

Note: The app does NOT require READ_MEDIA_IMAGES permission on Android 13+ as it uses scoped storage APIs (file_picker, image_picker) which comply with Google Play's Photo and Video Permissions policy.

🔐 Data Storage & Security

  • Local Storage: All documents, PDFs, images, extracted text, user profile information (name, avatar), and app preferences are stored locally on your device using SQLite and Hive databases
  • Profile Management: User profile information is managed locally within the app. Your name and avatar are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to external servers
  • No Cloud Sync: We do not sync, backup, or upload your documents, profile information, or any other data to any cloud service
  • No External Servers: Your documents, profile information, and app data never leave your device
  • No Third-Party Analytics: We do not use analytics SDKs to track your app usage
  • Data Deletion: You can delete any document, PDF, extracted text, or profile information at any time from within the app. Clearing app data will remove all stored information including your profile

🌐 Third-Party Services

Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in our app. AdMob may collect and process data according to their Privacy Policy. You can manage ad personalization in your device settings.

Google ML Kit (OCR)

We use Google ML Kit for text recognition (OCR). Text recognition is performed locally on your device. Google ML Kit may process images locally but does not transmit your images to Google servers.

Other Third-Party Libraries

The app uses open-source libraries (Flutter packages) that are subject to their respective licenses. These libraries do not collect personal data.

🌍 Data Transfer & International Users

Since all your documents and data are stored locally on your device, there is no international data transfer. However, Google AdMob may process advertising data according to their international data transfer policies.

👤 Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can access all your documents, PDFs, extracted text, and profile information within the app
  • Edit Profile: You can edit or delete your profile information (name, avatar) at any time from the app settings
  • Delete: You can delete any document, PDF, extracted text, or profile information at any time. You can also clear all app data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data from device settings
  • Export: You can export and share your documents, PDFs, and extracted text using the app's share functionality
  • Opt-Out of Ads: You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization; iOS: Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising > Limit Ad Tracking)

👶 Children's Privacy

Ultra Doc Scanner does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since the app stores all data locally and does not require user registration, it is generally safe for children to use under parental supervision.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can delete such information.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date.

1. App Usage

  • The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • You agree to use the app for lawful purposes only
  • You are responsible for how you use scanned documents, PDFs, and extracted text
  • You must not use the app to violate any laws or infringe on the rights of others

2. Document Scanning & OCR Disclaimer

Ultra Doc Scanner:

  • Provides document scanning, OCR, and PDF tools as a service
  • Does not verify the accuracy, authenticity, or legality of scanned content
  • OCR text extraction may contain errors and should be verified before use
  • Is not responsible for the content of scanned documents or extracted text

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring you have the right to scan and process documents
  • Verifying the accuracy of OCR-extracted text
  • Complying with copyright and privacy laws when scanning documents
  • Protecting sensitive information in scanned documents

3. E-Signature & PDF Tools

  • E-signatures created in the app are for convenience purposes
  • The legal validity of e-signatures depends on applicable laws in your jurisdiction
  • We are not responsible for the legal enforceability of e-signatures
  • PDF tools (merge, split, compress, etc.) are provided as-is without guarantees
  • Always verify PDF files after using PDF manipulation tools

4. Data Loss & Backup

  • All documents are stored locally on your device
  • We recommend backing up important documents regularly
  • We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, app uninstallation, or clearing app data
  • You are responsible for maintaining backups of your important documents

5. Advertising

  • The app displays advertisements via Google AdMob
  • We are not responsible for the content of advertisements
  • Clicking on advertisements may redirect you to third-party websites or apps
  • We are not responsible for any interactions with third-party advertisers

6. Intellectual Property

  • App design, UI, code, and branding belong to SoftTech Service
  • You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app without permission
  • Third-party libraries and services are subject to their respective licenses

7. Limitation of Liability

SoftTech Service is not liable for:

  • Data loss or corruption
  • Financial loss resulting from use of the app
  • Damage caused by third-party services (AdMob, ML Kit, etc.)
  • Inaccuracies in OCR text extraction
  • Legal issues arising from scanned documents or e-signatures
  • Device damage or malfunction

Use the app at your own discretion and risk.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you violate these Terms & Conditions or applicable laws. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions periodically. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms. We recommend reviewing these terms periodically.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by applicable laws. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable legal procedures.

Limitation of Liability

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL SOFTTECH SERVICE BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

Commercial Use

Ultra Doc Scanner is a commercial product. Unauthorized distribution, resale, or use in commercial applications without proper licensing is prohibited.
